I'm working in online advertising since 1998 and finally decided to start my own blog.

How important are domain names in Affiliate Marketing.

Domain names are something that the internet, as we know it, couldn’t exist without. But how important are they, when it comes to affiliate marketing? Do you have to worry about choosing the most appropriate domain or can you just register whatever is available?

As always, the answer is not an easy one, and we have to analyze this a bit deeper. The determining factor here is, what are we actually trying to achieve. Are we going to build something, some site or some product … or are we just looking for something to put our promo material on?

The more long-term our goal is, the more important the domain name becomes. Let’s take a look at the possible options :

SIMPLE AFFILIATE CAMPAIGNS – USING PAID TRAFFIC

This is what I’m personally doing the most now : I buy visitors from traffic networks and send them to affiliate offers. To increase my conversions, I’m using Landing Pages pretty

How much money is needed to start in Affiliate Marketing, is low budget a problem?

Affiliate Marketing (AM) is a business, and as with any other business, you need to invest some money at the beginning. People keep on asking how much money is actually needed to start in AM and whether it’s even possible with a small budget. So let me take a closer look at this topic, to help you understand what it takes to become an affiliate marketer in terms of funding.

First of all, we need to set one thing straight – in order to sell anything at all, you need the visitors (traffic) and there are two possible approaches to obtain it – PAID and FREE (organic). The simple logic behind these two approaches determines how much $ you will actually need to start. If you decide to work with PAID traffic, your costs will be higher of course.

This is very obvious and easy to understand. But to really decide what approach would be better for you, we need to dive into this a little bit deeper. Both approaches have their pros and cons, so let me try to compare them.

Let’s start with the PROS of each approach :

What is native advertising and how you can benefit from it?

Banner blindness is a serious issue, for both the site owners (publishers) and advertisers, as well as for affiliates who serve as the middle men between these two. The more the users ignore the ads, the harder it is to sell them something. In order to fight this, the internet marketers have to come up with new ad formats all the time.

HOW TO MAKE BANNER BLIND SURFERS CLICK AN AD?

There are basically two ways of getting the “banner blind” users to click on your Ads :

– Distract them with intrusive AD formats like POPs, Interstitials, Self-Maximizing video banners … the problem with these is that they are annoying. They do produce results for sure, but the latest trends are not favoring such intrusive ADs. Google announced

How to improve the quality of your leads?

Anyone who is working with Lead Generation offers, surely knows how important lead quality really is. Good quality means higher payouts, low quality means … well, a kick from the offer. Trust me, there are not many things that can ruin your day more, than getting kicked from an offer that you just optimized into profit and planned to scale.

Lead quality is an important factor even in case you are collecting leads for yourself or your own business. Nobody is gonna tell you to stop promoting your own product of course, but quality of the leads you collect, will have a direct impact on the $$$ you make.

WHAT IS LEAD QUALITY?

First of all, we need to define what Lead Generation actually means.

The Lead Generation model is based on finding users who EITHER show interest in a particular product or service, OR fall for a LEAD magnet and agree to receive promotional messages later on. These two approaches can also

Matuloo.Com – 1st Moth in a nutshell – What happened so far?

About 1 month ago, I decided to start my own blog, finally. I was playing with that idea for a few years already, but never really believed that anyone would be interested in what I had to say. But based on the feedback I got from you guys so far, it wasn’t all that bad idea at all.

In one of the emails, that I sent to the subscribers of my email list, I asked for suggestions on topics to cover on this blog. To my surprise, large % of those who replied, asked me to document the process of building this very own blog and to write about why I’m actually working on it, what I expect from it, how much time and $ I spend on it …

I’m building this blog for you, people who read it … so if you want that stuff, I shall deliver 🙂 And since a month has passed already, now would be a good time to look back and sum up what I’ve done with the blog so far.

WHY DID I START THIS BLOG IN THE FIRST PLACE?

There were 3 main reasons behind this decision:

Small niche sites project with 500% ROI – how I did it?

WHY BUILD NICHE SITES AT ALL?

I was talking with one aspiring affiliate the other day, he wanted to start making money online, but didn’t like the instability of affiliate campaigns, especially when utilizing paid traffic. We all know, that campaigns come and go and what worked yesterday, doesn’t have to work tomorrow. This can get pretty annoying after a while and not everyone is able to cope with it.

When talking about alternatives he could take advantage of, we ended up talking about small niche sites that are easy to build and even easier to manage, since it’s all about the build and forget approach 🙂 You all know that I have tried a lot of stuff during my affiliate career, and

The All mighty Angles – what they really are and how to utilize them properly?

ANGLES HERE ANGLES THERE …

Everybody talks about angles … you need a strong angle to make money with your ADs, this angle is not working, try another angle, use aggressive angles … but what the hell is an angle actually? Let me copy&paste a definition for you :

“An angle is the space within two lines or three or more planes diverging from a common point, or within two planes diverging from a common line…” Ok sorry, not this ANGLE, fuck geometry 🙂

We are talking about the angles used in advertising

How I lost almost $500 in a few hours, because of a bidding mistake on a big traffic source.

One would think, that after multiple years of buying traffic, I would know how to prevent stupid mistakes from happening… but I’m far from being perfect so it seems 🙂 Let me tell you what happened to me a while ago and learn from it, that’s what the failures of others are good for!

I was running a campaign on ExoClick, which is one of the largest traffic

How many languages does an affiliate have to speak?

HOW MUCH OF A LINGUIST DO YOU HAVE TO BE?

Here is a question I am being asked a lot : “Do I need to speak some foreign languages in order to make it big in Affiliate Marketing?” The answer is pretty easy to give actually, you should speak some English and that’s about it. English is something like the official language of the Internet, so you definitely need to speak some. I’m not trying to tell you that you need a university degree in English, but the better you are at it, the easier your life of an
